In 2017, Stage 2 students met to discuss issue of recycling within the school. Students met fortnightly, with a group ‘expert' to lead the group and apply the solution think process.
The students agreed on the problem to be solved and participated in initial brain storming activities. Students worked collaboratively to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of their chosen methods.
Students chose to create a list, a survey or a graph.
Students were also involved in the promotion of Waste Free Lunch Day to help reduce rubbish at school, and encourage recycling.
The culmination of the project was the purchase of a recycling bin for the playground for the disposal of plastic bottles.
